“An Attack Upon the City of Mulek”

Brant Gardner

Taking Mulek was not impossible, for the Lamanites had done it (v. 4), though with a tremendous loss of life. All armies must be willing to accept some casualties; but in the case of Teancum’s smaller army, such losses would be devastating. Rather than waste his army—and thus open a clear path for the Lamanites to attack Zarahemla—he decided to await Moroni’s arrival.
