“Behold There Never Was a Happier Time Among the People of Nephi”

W. Cleon Skousen

In these verses we see why the Nephites had suffered so much in the past when they were relatively idle but moderately prosperous. They had been their own worst enemies with quarreling, murdering, plundering, idolatry and whoredoms. But now things were different. Moroni had the people too busy to conjure up quarreling and various wicked practices. The crowning compliment of these days was the statement that "never was there a happier time among the people of Nephi."
