“South of the Land of Zarahemla”

Alan C. Miner

In Alma 50:7 it states that the Lamanites who were in the east wilderness were driven into their own lands, "which were south of the land of Zarahemla." The phrase "south of the land of Zarahemla" probably means south of the general land of Zarahemla with borders similar to that described in Alma 22:27, but with at least the eastern borders now apparently running in a "straight course from the east sea to the west" (Alma 50:8) rather than "round about on the borders of the seashsore" (Alma 22:27).
