How do we attain such a desirable station in life? The answer is given in the verse just cited: “the people did humble themselves because of their words” (verse 20). Helaman and his brethren deliver the word of God to the people, who receive it with humility and thus they are favored of the Lord. Do we humbly accept and follow the word? When we take the word of God into our hearts, we are humbled; the result is always repentance and righteousness.
