Amalickiah continues to conquer by deception rather than brute force, although it is not clear how he has managed to suppress news about his defection and command of Lehonti’s people. Thus, the over-king comes to meet the army with only his personal guards. The prostration of Amalickiah’s servants was probably standard for servants approaching the king. Observing this custom continued to convey the impression that all was well and keep the king’s guards complacent.
