“None but the Truly Penitent Are Saved”

This is what Lehi meant when he taught that only those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit can be saved (2 Nephi 2:7). Only those who are meek and lowly of heart- a condition caused by godly sorrow for sin and unconditional surrender to the will of the Lord- are acceptable to the Most High (see Moroni 7:44).
