“Cherubim”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
Cherubim is the (Hebrew) plural of cherub, though it is used in the scriptures as a singular noun. “In the celestial hierarchy, cherubs are represented as spirits next in order to seraphs’ (Webster’s Dictionary, 1828). Regarded as chief among their duties is that of guarding the holy place, or the place where God dwells.”
