“Things Shall Be Restored to Their Proper Order”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

The justice of God is at the core of the principle of restoration, and the resurrection of the physical body through the atonement of Christ is a powerful example of both restoration and the justice of God. All individuals who have lived on this earth will be resurrected (1 Corinthians 15:22). Nonetheless, a telestial spirit cannot be resurrected with a celestial body. Good is restored to good, and bad to bad. Amulek taught earlier that “that same spirit which doth possess your bodies at the time that ye go out of this life, that same spirit will have power to possess your body in that eternal world” (Alma 34:34). We will be resurrected with the type of body we will possess for eternity, based on the purity and condition of our spirits (1 Corinthians 15:40–42).
