“Among the many teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ which we bear to the world, there are none that have created more speculation … as has the doctrine of the resurrection of the dead. The fact that there is a resurrection of the dead is plainly noted by every believer in Christ, but the metaphysics of how our bodies will be raised from the grave has brought forth many arguments both pro and con. Skeptics delight to twist and turn every promise made to us concerning the certainty of this grand and remarkable experience. Believers exultingly proclaim it, the incredulous, with equal fervor, deny it” (Reynolds and Sjodahl, Commentary on the Book of Mormon, 4:193).
