As we previously mentioned, there is an interesting three-way conversation going on at this time. It includes Alma, Corianton and the Spirit of the Lord. The Spirit whispers to Alma the principles of the gospel which are disturbing to Corianton. In this first verse Alma reveals to Corianton that the Spirit has made him aware of one of Corianton's major questions. He says:
Alma begins the discussion by warning Corianton that he knows certain things about the resurrection, but there are some things he doesn't know. In verse 2 he makes it clear that nobody will be resurrected until after the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
