“Thy Mind Is Worried”

Jana Reiss

Here, Alma is speaking not to Helaman but to another son, Corianton. From chapters 38 and 39, it’s clear that Alma had just cause to worry about this son, who seems to have lusted after “wicked harlots” and forsaken his call to the ministry. No wonder Corianton seems concerned about the resurrection; his father has already warned him that “behold, ye cannot hide your crimes from God; and except ye repent they will stand as a testimony against you at the last day” (Alma 39:8).
