Apparently this Isabel who had flirted with Corianton and finally seduced him, was a notorious madam who was known to have stolen "the hearts of many." Alma therefore made no excuse or allowances for Corianton's youth and lack of judgment. He obviously believed his son had walked into this den of harlotry with his eyes wide open. Alma struck down any excuses or self defenses that Corianton might be building up in his mind by emphasizing God's denunciation of immorality.
