“The Life and the Light of the World”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
The light which shineth, which giveth you light, is through [Christ] who enlighteneth your eyes, which is the same light that quickeneth your understandings, the light that “giveth life to all things” and is the “law by which all things are governed.” Without the light that comes from Christ (and this is true in both a physical and a spiritual sense), the earth would know no life. Christ is the source of that light which comes from the sun, moon, and stars, as he is the source of the light of truth, and through his atoning sacrifice he became the source of resurrection and eternal life. See D&C 88:6-13.
