If it were not for these two verses we would have had no idea of the near-death experience of Shiblon among the Zoramites. It is nowhere mentioned in any other part of the record. Notice that Shiblon had not only been in bonds among the Zoramites but he had been stoned. The fact that Shiblon had been rescued through divine intervention is implied by the statement that "thou knowest that the Lord did delivered thee." Obviously, a very frightening event occurred here about which we know nothing.
