To Alma, the commandments are simple, easy to keep. He denounces those who are “slothful because of the easiness of the way.” The pathway “is prepared” but we must have faith to walk it. Faith leading to proper action brings us to where “we may live forever.” He also alludes to the earlier analogy of looking upon the brazen serpent by switching the metaphor from “walking” to “look[ing].”
