“Learn Wisdom in Thy Youth”

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

Today this famous statement is repeated over and over as part of the teaching/learning agenda in the home and Church. We tend to associate wisdom with maturing years and senior perspectives. But Alma tells Helaman to learn wisdom in his youth. Truly, wise patterns of obedience, honor, and righteousness can be cultivated during the growing years of youth and adolescence. The seeds of wisdom are to be sown early in life so that the harvest of blessings can continue into the graying years. As we seek wisdom (applying truth to life), we will keep the commandments and gain favor with our Father in Heaven.
