Alma’s mention of deliverance from prison and bonds probably has a dual meaning for him: both literal (he and Amulek had been literally delivered from a physical prison and physical bonds [Alma 14: 26–27]) and spiritual (the release of his soul from the terrible and potentially eternal bonds of sin).
