“After They Had Preached the Word Unto the Zoramites”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

The truth of Alma 31:5 is confirmed—“the word” had a greater power to effect righteous change than anything else. Some Zoramites converted to the gospel and were expelled by the wicked, taken in by the people of Ammon, and ministered to “according to their wants.” True charity extended by sincere disciples comprehends both needs and wants. Nevertheless, the work of the adversary also increased, and war was initiated again, as reported in a latter part of the record (see Alma 43:3).
