“The Devil . . . Doth Seal You His”

A truly frightening prospect to consider, concerning procrastination, is that it endows us with a marker, seized upon by the devil at life’s end, to claim us as his own. Where the Spirit of the Lord has withdrawn from us, the devil has all power. This is a nightmare worse than anything in Dante’s Inferno, for it means that our “final state&ddquo; is one of enduring wickedness and damnation. Remember that failure to repent subjects us to the devil—we must pay the price.
