“Then Cometh the Night of Darkness”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
If we are not careful, if we do not prepare properly, if we do not focus upon things that matter most, we shall eventually come, unprepared, face to face with death. While the sun shines we are expected to walk in the light and perform labors appropriate to the light, for sooner than we think we shall be called upon to pass through that veil which separates the embodied from the disembodied. The spirit world, called here the “night of darkness” (compare Alma 41:7), is a place wherein righteous works are to be continued, not begun.
