Notice how Alma started out by quoting Zenos to prove that prayer is appropriate any time and any place. Now he is using Zenos to prove that his prayers were answered because of the Son. Alma is challenging the whole foundation of the Zoramite prayer on the Rameumpton. In that prayer the Zoramites said: "Thou hast made it known unto us that there shall be no Christ."
Furthermore, "thou hast elected us to be saved whilst all around us are elected to be cast ... down to hell." Talk about the satanical anti-Christ doctrines of Nehor and Korihor! Here they were being taught in Antionum by the priests of the Zoramites. The scriptures were apparently widely spread among the people, therefore Alma confronted them with the teachings of their most famous prophets.
