Notice that Alma does not press the parable too far or too fast. Having established that one can feel the swelling in the heart or mind, this becomes tangible evidence but it is not perfect knowledge. It is evidence but not proof. Nevertheless, it is sufficient to begin the enlightening of one's understanding and the swelling within one's soul.
