While the Zoramites may have rejected the performances of the Mosaic law, they have retained two essential elements: (1) belief in Yahweh and (2) being Yahweh’s chosen people. It appears that they have theologically expanded the role of election in their inherited Nephite religion and made it a core element of Zoramite identity. They, and they alone, are the chosen and the elect, exclusively in Yahweh’s grace. They will be saved; all others will be condemned.
