“Zoram Who Was, Was Leading the Hearts of the People to Bow Down to Dumb Idols,”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

After the ignominious death of Korihor, Alma had to face yet another problem—the news that the Zoramites, another splinter group from the Nephites, were in the throes of apostasy and idolatry. Under the law of Moses, idolatry was one of the worst sins—described in graphic terms as spiritual adultery (Leviticus 17:7; Jeremiah 3:6, 8, 9). Such reports evoke in us an appreciation for the faithfulness of the Lord’s servants, who do not face lives of ease and do not flinch from doing hard things.
