One who in Faustian fashion sells his soul to Satan need not expect in times of difficulty any sense of fraternal or familial attachment, any type of protection or support from the archdeceiver. He who knows no love knows no family. He who was willing to promise salvation before the world was made will have no power to raise his own out of perdition. He is not one to be trusted. Indeed, he “rewardeth [his subjects] no good thing” (Alma 34:39).
