The Trial of Korihor

Daniel H. Ludlow

When the people resisted Korihor and his teachings, they “caused that he should be bound; and they delivered him up into the hands of the officers.” (Alma 30:29.) The officers before whom Korihor was taken included Alma (who was the religious leader) and Nephihah (“the chief judge who was governor over all the land”—Alma 30:29). The fact that Korihor was brought before Alma would seem to indicate that Korihor was or had been a member of the church.
