At this point it was shocking to have someone as evil as the disgraced and executed Nehor suddenly come among the member of the Church for the specific purpose of destroying their faith. Alma wanted to explain how their law allowed complete freedom of speech as far as beliefs were concerned, but reprobates could not justify the criminal violations of the law by claiming these were merely exercising some of their personal beliefs.
