Concluding Thoughts

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

To look in upon these famous scenes from the Book of Mormon is to see the unfolding stories of conversion to the Lord, of making a covenant of peace, of rejoicing in the blessings of the gospel, of seeking and finding refuge among the Saints, and of experiencing the profound joy and enduring glory in being an instrument in the hands of God.

Alma and the sons of Mosiah stand as beacons of light, examples to all of the blessings of missionary work. They were truly instruments in the hands of God. They were ready to be used, they had a strong desire to serve, they were clean and pure, they knew their purpose, and they trusted in the Lord. They worked with all their heart, might, mind, and strength. They thrust in their sickles and saved thousands of souls. We too can be instruments in the hands of God—in our homes as we bless each family member, and at school and work where we can be a friend to the lonely or just a smile to lift their spirits. In everything we do, every day of our lives, we can ask the question, “Whom can I bless? How can I serve?”
