“Never Did Look Upon Death with Any Degree of Terror”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
It is a contradiction to profess saving faith and yet to cling tenaciously to life and be terrified by death. If our faith does not reach beyond the shadow of death, we are, as Paul said, “of all men most miserable” (1 Corinthians 15:19). “Those that die in me,” the Lord promised, “shall not taste of death, for it shall be sweet unto them” (D&C 42:46). “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints” (Psalms 116:15).
