“The Sword of His Justice”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
If God be God, he must be just; and justice demands that the Lord of Hosts take up his sword against those who war against him and desire to destroy his kingdom. Isaiah spoke of Its “sword bathed in heaven” (meaning either “anointed,” or “drunk to its fill”) with which he will come down upon the world in judgment (Isaiah 34:5; see also D&C 1:13; The Interpreter’s Bible 5:356).
