“I Do Not Boast in My Own Strength but I Will Boast of My God, for in His Strength I Can Do All Things”

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

Ammon employs essential elements of missionary work—devotion, knowledge of saving truths, openness to the directions of the Spirit, forceful action, and love—in order to further the cause of the Lord with great success. When his brother Aaron reproves him for what appears to be a boastful attitude following their mission to the Lamanites, Ammon responds that he is not boasting of himself, but only of His God. Let us be strong in our humility and trust in the Lord; we can then truly do all things “in his strength” (verse 12).
