“The Storm Cannot Penetrate to Them”

Brant Gardner

Ammon’s imagery is more vivid, possibly drawn from the many destructive hurricanes that regularly hit Mesoamerica. Possibly this image of destructive and powerful winds is a particularly realistic allusion to destruction in an area familiar with hurricanes. The meaning is also clear. Ammon is saying that the Anti-Nephi-Lehies have been truly converted and that their conversion can withstand any storm, even the threat to their physical lives. Ammon is confident that their faith can withstand any spiritual assault.
