“He loveth our souls”—John 3:16 says, “God so loved the world [that is, the inhabitants of the world], that he gave his only begotten Son.” Psalm 8:4–5 describes how man was created a little lower than the Gods [Elohim in Hebrew], which says something about our potential to become like our Heavenly Father. Are our souls valuable? He thinks so: He loveth our souls. “The worth of souls is great in the sight of God” (D&C 18:10).
