“Anti-Nephi-Lehi—King of the Covenant”

Through the blessings of the Lord, the sons of Mosiah experience a remarkable missionary harvest among the Lamanites, including Lamoni, king in the land of Ishmael, and his father, king over all the land. Just prior to his death, the aging father of Lamoni confers the kingdom upon another of his sons, whom he names Anti-Lehi-Nephi (see Alma 24:3–4). Concerning the life of this new king we know very little. Mormon has preserved for us the stirring speech he delivers to his people to sharpen their resolve in honoring the covenant they have made to forsake their former warlike lifestyle and embrace the gospel with total commitment. Here are the circumstances leading up to the delivery of his speech:
