Here in the printer’s manuscript, Joseph Smith grammatically emended three instances of which to who in his editing for the 1837 edition, but the first of these who’s ended up being omitted by the 1837 typesetter. The who was restored in the 1858 Wright edition (and thus in the RLDS textual tradition) while the 1879 LDS edition restored it to the LDS text. The critical text will, of course, restore the original use of which in all three of these cases. The original text, in accord with the biblical style, uses both which and who as relative pronouns to refer to people; in each case, the critical text will follow the earliest textual sources in determining which relative pronoun was the original.
