What Shall I Do That I May Have Eternal Life!

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

Aaron's words were gratefully received by the king, who besought Aaron to teach him how he might obtain this Eternal Life of which Aaron had spoken.

The questions asked by the ruler definitely depict the course taken by Aaron in proclaiming the Gospel to the old monarch. It also portrays in words that we, too, may understand more fully the gifts and blessings that come to us through the Atonement of Christ.

The king, in whose veins ran the Blood of Israel, immediately recognized the truth when he heard it, and made ready to receive it. He was, at once, prepared to sacrifice all, that the great blessing of Eternal Life should be his. The things the king held most dear, his kingdom and its power, all worldly goods, he was willing to forsake, if he could receive that great joy of which Aaron had told him.
