Redaction: This verse reverses the chronological order of the events to summarize the information presented up to this point. Given the inversion, we might look for something like chiasm, but the earlier sentences do not lend themselves to such an explanation. Nevertheless, it seems reasonable that Mormon used this order for stylistic reasons. Preaching, the important message, appears first, placing the deliverance from prison and the even earlier suffering as events that occurred so that the word could be preached.
