It is interesting that these apostate Nephites would call their city Jerusalem. This is, of course, the name of the most ancient home of both Lamanite and Nephite cultures according to the traditions of the fathers. It is likely that the Amalekites (Amlicites) wanted to establish their authority to rule by tracing themselves to their ancient common origin with the Lamanites.
