“As He Arose, He Stretched Forth His Hand”

Brant Gardner

Lamoni’s first words are to bless Yahweh’s name, then bless the queen. He had begun this experience without believing in Yahweh and not even knowing if there was a God. Now Lamoni is abundantly aware of Yahweh and of Yahweh’s mercy. But what triggered his blessing of his wife, well-deserved though it was. Had he been aware of his intervening on his behalf? Had part of his spiritual experience involved her? Or is he simply expressing his love for her when he roused to find her at his side?
