“He Knows All the Thoughts and Intents of the Heart”

If God were unable to read the thoughts and desires of our hearts, he would also be unable to judge our actions. The very nature of Godhood requires that he has a perfect knowledge of our thoughts and the intent of our hearts. The assurance of the scriptures is that the judgment of God will combine works and desires as one (see Alma 29:5; Alma 41:3; D&C 18:38; D&C 137:9).
