How do you teach someone who doesn’t even know about God?

Thomas R. Valletta

“It took a series of explanations to convince Lamoni that Ammon was not the Lord. First, Ammon flatly declared, ‘I am not.’ (Alma 18:19.) Next, Ammon taught Lamoni who God was and about his attributes. (Alma 18:24–32.) He explained his own calling from God and the gifts of the Spirit that helped him accomplish the Lord’s work. (Alma 18:33–35.) Finally, Ammon taught Lamoni the gospel from the scriptures, specifically explaining the creation, the fall, and the atonement. (Alma 18:38–39.)” (Fronk, “Show Forth Good Examples in Me,” 325).
