“I Will Show Forth the Power Which is in Me That I May Lead Them to Believe in My Words”

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

Ammon rejoices in the opportunity to gain credibility with his colleagues through a demonstration of the power of God. As we live righteously, the power of God is made manifest in us. If we are willing, the Lord will provide the opportunity and give us the strength as well as the words to say to bless peoples’ lives. Elder Neal A. Maxwell taught this principle: “God does not begin by asking us about our ability, but only about our availability, and if we then prove our dependability, he will increase our capability!” (“It’s Service, Not Status, That Counts,” The Neal A. Maxwell Quote Book, ed. Cory H. Maxwell [Salt Lake City: Bookcraft, 1997], xvii).
