Once these missionaries separated and went out among the Lamanites they could see that this was going to be a rugged experience. The Lamanites were a wild and ferocious people. They spent their time robbing and plundering one another. They were an indolent people, worshiping idols, and living a wild, almost uncivilized type of life.
