“The Sons of Mosiah Took Courage to Go Forth Unto the Lamanites”

Brant Gardner

Of course, this band of missionaries had resolved to declare the gospel to the Lamanites even before leaving. When they made that decision, it may have been based on their own analysis of the situation and conclusion about what would be best. At this point, however, they have Yahweh’s assurance that this is also his desire. As a result, their determination to preach has been increased. Given the difficulties they already know about, the statement that they “took courage to go forth” is revealing. Yahweh’s comfort, reinforced by courage, builds upon their initial resolve.
