“If Ye Have the Power of God”

These words of the chief judge immediately bring to mind the language of his master in his attempts to entice the Savior to the improper use of heaven’s powers. “If thou be the Son of God,” he taunted, “command that these stones be made bread.” And again, “If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down” from this pinnacle and the angels will “bear thee up.” (See Matthew 4:3-6.)
