“Having Faith on the Lord”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

Having delivered one of the most doctrinally profound sermons in all of holy writ, having pointed toward the sacred promises which are available to those who seek the face of the Lord with singlemindedness, having spoken of the mysteries of the kingdom, Alma now comes back to the basics and focuses upon those matters which are foundational and fundamental to sainthood.

It is noteworthy that Alma should suggest that the way to enter the rest of the Lord, here and hereafter, is to seek the Spirit and seek those precious gifts-faith, hope, and charity-which bring peace in this world and eternal glory in the world to come.
