“There Were Many Who Were Made Pure and Entered into the Rest of the Lord Their God”

Alan C. Miner

According to Larry Dahl, the principle of entering into the rest of the Lord is referred to at least ten times by Alma in his preaching to the Ammonihahites: Alma 12:34, 34, 36, 37; 13:6, 12, 13, 16, 29; 16:17. With his explanation in 13:11-12, 29, it seems clear that Alma uses the expression to mean that one has qualified for exaltation while yet here in mortality. One can know that he or she has so qualified, and then may have the privilege of the Second Comforter.
