Notice that those who receive the priesthood are expected to be diligent and work righteousness just as Alma and Amulek were doing. Notice especially, that those who are not diligent in working righteousness in their calling shall perish or be denied a place in God's kingdom. "These are they whom God says were not valiant in the testimony of Jesus, wherefore they obtain not crown over the kingdom of our God,"1 but end up in the terrestrial kingdom.
