Here Alma emphasized that the great order of the priesthood was set up after the order of God's Son so that all mankind would appreciate that he and he alone was the only one toward whom they can expect to receive their salvation or redemption. Next Alma wanted his listeners to know that those who receive the priesthood were called and ordained to perform this great service in the spirit world before they were born. And he wanted to describe the kind of spirits that were selected for this great privilege.
