“Provocation”

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

Provoking the Lord through disobedience and rebellion will disqualify us from entering into His rest. We need to relinquish our unyielding hearts and turn resolutely toward God in order to enjoy His blessings. Elder Neal A. Maxwell reinforces this point: “Events may turn against us, but if we are turning ever more toward God, we are on course. This is the only turning that really matters. Though that turning may bring with it an attendant churning, better the spiritual churning of a broken heart than an unyielding, hard heart” (Men and Women of Christ [Salt Lake City: Bookcraft, 1991], 130).
